High performance aircraft - wing skin optimization using modeFRONTIER

This presentation is about the multi-objective and multi-model optimization of high-performance aircraft composite wing by minimizing weight and wing-tip displacements. modeFRONTIER was employed as the optimization platform for integrating NASTRAN, PATRAN and MATLAB for analysis. modeFRONTIER provided optimized results with reduction of 15% mass wrt baseline design. modeFRONTIER provided optimized results within 1500 [For building RSM (368x5 = 1840)] design iterations for such a complex problem.
